Overview
This experiment uses a photodiode to detect light and convert it into an electrical signal. The voltage output from the photodiode changes depending on the intensity of the light hitting it.
Components Required
- Photodiode
- Resistor (10kΩ)
- Power Supply (5V)
- Multimeter
Procedure
Follow these steps to set up the experiment:
- Connect the photodiode in reverse bias configuration.
- Attach a resistor in series with the photodiode to limit the current.
- Measure the output voltage with a multimeter as the light intensity changes.
Expected Result
The voltage output will vary depending on the light intensity hitting the photodiode. A stronger light intensity will result in a higher voltage, and a weaker light will result in a lower voltage.
