Photodiode Light Sensor

Photodiode Light Sensor Experiment

Overview

This experiment uses a photodiode to detect light and convert it into an electrical signal. The voltage output from the photodiode changes depending on the intensity of the light hitting it.

Components Required

Procedure

Follow these steps to set up the experiment:

  1. Connect the photodiode in reverse bias configuration.
  2. Attach a resistor in series with the photodiode to limit the current.
  3. Measure the output voltage with a multimeter as the light intensity changes.

Expected Result

The voltage output will vary depending on the light intensity hitting the photodiode. A stronger light intensity will result in a higher voltage, and a weaker light will result in a lower voltage.
