Phototransistor as Light Detector

Phototransistor as Light Detector

Overview

This experiment demonstrates how a phototransistor can be used to detect light and convert it into an electrical signal.

Components Required

Procedure

1. Connect the phototransistor in a voltage divider configuration.

2. Measure the voltage change across the resistor as the light intensity changes.

3. Use the phototransistor output to control an LED or other indicator based on light level.

Expected Result

The LED will turn on or off depending on the amount of light detected by the phototransistor.
