Overview
This experiment demonstrates the use of a full-wave rectifier circuit with a center-tapped transformer to convert AC to DC.
Components Required
- Center-tapped Transformer
- Diodes
- Resistors
- Capacitor (for smoothing)
- DC Load
- Breadboard and wires
Procedure
1. Connect the center-tapped transformer to the AC input.
2. Connect four diodes in a bridge configuration for the full-wave rectification.
3. Use a capacitor to smooth the DC output.
Expected Result
The output will be a full-wave rectified DC signal, with reduced ripple when filtered with a capacitor.
